I didn't do any tests in this regard but I'm quite positive that your computer (CPU) is more often a bottleneck in this scenario, not an audio interface. The interface gets a stereo signal from your DAW. It's mixed down in your DAW and that's where the latency is introduced (or not).

I have a 10th gen i9 desktop and I can get quite far with low latency before it starts choking. Same interface on a 8th gen ultrabook starts choking much earlier and you have to increase the buffer size which introduces the latency.
